Welcome to Eagle Ridge Kindergarten! We are so glad you have chosen us and that you have chosen a classical curriculum for your child! Our classical curriculum is built on a rigorous quest not only for knowledge, but also truth, beauty, and goodness. Below you will find explanations of how these tenants of a classical education are daily woven into our Kindergarten classes and links to further readings on classical education at Eagle Ridge Academy. Our classical Kindergarten is language focused and capitalizes on the students' natural ability to absorb information. In Kindergarten, we take every advantage of this developmental stage to not only build a strong foundation in the subject areas, but also to help students accumulate vast amounts of knowledge. We help students gather more facts to build a broad knowledge base through endless songs, chants, and recitations. While many other models of teaching center on the student or the teacher, we center our teacher on knowledge itself, utilizing the innate skills of young scholars, direct instruction, and constant modeling to ensure students get the most out of instruction. As a classical Kindergarten teacher, I can honestly say, I believe there is no more joyful a place than a classical classroom! Here's hoping your children are loving this wonderful education you have chosen for them!

TRUTH
In Kindergarten we are working to build a foundation of skills while seeking facts, or truths in all disciplines. Kindergarteners are truly amazed by the facts they learn at school and are excited to share their new found knowledge. It is incredible to watch them get more and more excited as they gain more knowledge, amass more facts, and ultimately, uncover more truths!

BEAUTY
Beauty is all around us. In Kindergarten we discuss not only the beauty around us, but also our individual quest for beauty. Students begin to share things they find beautiful and we all celebrate together when we create something beautiful--whether it be classwork or an extension of our learning at home.

GOODNESS
We strive to foster a life-long love of learning, but we also strive to nurture a keen sense of citizenship and justice. Guided by the Eagle Ridge Pillars of Citizenship, Integrity, Perseverance, Honesty, Excellence, and Responsibility, our students strive to not only exhibit goodness through the pillars, but also recognize such efforts in others.
